The Smith Project

Now What?

When you get home from your honeymoon, just do yourself a favor and don't do ANYTHING! Give yourself permission to continue to relax for a day or two after you come back from being in paradise with your hubby.

If you're anything like me, you'll know what I'm talking about. You start thinking about all the thing you've got to do once you get home like, write those thank you cards for the gifts, let both sets of parents know you made it home alright, there's nothing in the fridge and now you have to go grocery shopping from scratch. Oy vey. It can get overwhelming fairly quickly.

As you're still getting use to being a “Mrs”, when you first arrive home just take the rest of your day to chill. Go order takeout, drink some wine (or beverage of choice), cuddle while watching a favorite movie, and have some fun before bed ;-)

The key for when you get back from your honeymoon is to continue to have the mindset that you can take your time and enjoy life. You are newly married! Now is the time to take a step back, look at the bigger picture, grab your husbands hand and admire the beauty of all that you've accomplished to get to where you are now andyour future together. Have fun and enjoy your first day back!

Tips for Day 1:

  1. Unpack and organize

-Start with your clothes first, but ONLY if you have all the proper furniture to place your things in

  1. Open up all gifts

-If you haven't already) and write Thank Yous (I think this is an easy and relaxing way to get something done. And all you have to do is sit and write. I recommend going to www.postable.com to write your thank you cards. It's only great for organizing your online addresses, but now you can pick a card, type it out, and click send for $2 a card. A pretty good deal in my opinion!

  2. Limit yourself to working on one room ONLY

-And if you REALLY need to do something, then organize a room that you already have all of your décor and supplies for. If you don't then go read a good book.

  3. Start laundry (simple enough)

  4. Don't do any of the following things and order your favorite take out

    -Eat, drink, and be merry
